We serve families with children ages 2 to 5 from Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and beyond.
Our full-time program launches soon and runs from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, 5 days per week.
Our part-time program runs from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the option to attend 2, 3, or 5 days per week. In addition, extended care is available until 2:30 pm.
Beyond the programs above, which run during the school year (excluding national holidays, Jewish holidays, and during winter and spring breaks), and we offer a 6-week summer program.
We are conveniently located at Congregation Beth Emek in Pleasanton (website) (map). Shabbat and Jewish holidays are marked with stories, songs, and crafts. The preschool staff and Rabbi Milder work together to create meaningful experiences for the children throughout the school year. Our many non-Jewish students are involved as well, learning about Judaism and universal values such as kindness, respect, and gratitude. Children are accepted into the program regardless of gender, race, religious affiliation or national origin, provided the program meets the needs of the child.
A child-focused, play-based curriculum
A typical day at Beth Emek Preschool includes:
• Circle time with stories, music, dance and discussions
• Hands-on activities, such as art, science and manipulative toys
• Free play, with opportunities for dramatics, construction and building, and games
• Outside activities, including climbing, wheel toys, and water play
• At snack and lunchtime, the children have a relaxed, non-structured social experience with adults and peers seated around the table.
Individualized attention & experienced staff
Beth Emek Preschool offers individualized attention, with small class sizes and low child-teacher ratios. In addition, Director Kathi Estill and teachers Melinda McDonald, Jenelle Lopez, Julie Stern, and Susan Raphael are all dedicated career educators who hold degrees or certificates in Early Childhood Education. With an average tenure of well over a decade, they provide the warmth, expertise, and continuity to help children thrive.
